Back for a second year with the skibirds, Lauren Hale continues to impress. After learning to ski in Big White, B.C. at a young age, Lauren grew up in Toronto, ON, where she skied for the Toronto Ski Club at Blue Mountain and went on to train at the National Ski Academy throughout her high school years. She decided to come to UBC for the opportunity to continue competing at a high level, as well as to be able to enjoy the mountains in her spare time. Outside of racing, Lauren enjoys spending her time playing basketball, hiking, and spending time with friends. She has been instrumental in fostering team spirit over the past season, as well as being a very strong competitor – helping to qualify the team to race in Regionals and Nationals. She placed 25th in GS at the 2016 USCSA Nationals, her favourite discipline offered on the USCSA circuit. Lauren has also enjoyed trying her hand at Ski Cross and getting the opportunity to do more spring skiing since her arrival in Vancouver.

Stay tuned for more updates on our new athletes for this season!
