Athlete Feature of the Week: Michele Warner

Returning to snow after a knee injury, this is Michele’s first year racing for UBC. She is originally from Ontario growing up racing at the National Ski Academy in Collingwood and at Alpine Ski Club. Michele is in her second year of Kinesiology and hopes to become a Physiotherapist or Sports Conditioning Coach! Her favourite place to race is Mt. Garceau in Quebec, because of the great terrain. In her free time Michele can be found at Whistler or playing Volleyball or softball. Her all time favourite ski racer is Henrik Kristofferson. Michele had an amazing first race back competing this past weekend in Tamarack, Idaho. She had a solid top 15 finish in both races. We are happy to have her back on snow and expect some more great results from her throughout the rest of the season!

We are very appreciative of all the encouragement from friends and alumni of the UBC Alpine Ski Team – your support makes all the difference in each student athlete’s success this season. Please consider donating to fund the continued growth of the UBC Alpine Ski Team and allowing athletes like Michele to continue ski racing and representing UBC Athletics on a national stage.
