Lace Up For Kids is an event put on by UBC REC every year in support of BC Children’s Hospital and the Rare Disease Foundation. All the money that is raised goes straight into funding research on rare diseases. You have the power to change a child’s life. There are plenty of ways to contribute to this worthwhile cause, and five great ones are outlined below.

Make a donation.

Big or small, any donation that you make will have a positive impact. The donation page will be open all year, but please consider making a donation now!

Clubs and organizations across campus are helping to raise money for this cause as part of LACE UP PALOOZA! UBC Improv is having a show, CVC is hosting a poker night – there are so many opportunities to make a small donation and have fun while you’re it. There is an event for everybody, so pick the ones that interest you, grab some friends, and have a great time! Check the Lace Up For Kids event page on Facebook for reminders before ALL Lace Up Palooza events!

Go to Lace Up For Kids on Thursday November 16th.

Everyone is welcome to attend this super fun night of skating, food, a silent auction, and so much more! You will have the chance to donate at the event, as well as buy tickets for games and the auction, and all proceeds will go to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. You can bring your own skates or rent them at the arena. Put the date in your calendar and we’ll see you there!! 🙂

Spread awareness.

Spread word about the Lace Up For Kids event and let your friends and family know about this great cause! Whether or not you can personally make a donation, chances are there are people you know who can. Spreading awareness about the event and the cause are a great way to help out. Share the Facebook event page now!

Donate your time.

Monetary donations are not the only way to make a difference in these children’s lives. Donate your time as a volunteer at Lace Up For Kids or lend your services to BC Children’s Hospital – they have many volunteer positions available, and it’s a great way to get involved.
