Break up your workday and get moving! We go out of our way to provide opportunities for both mental and physical wellness for faculty and staff on campus. Register for a class that fits into your schedule. Early morning yoga, pilates at noon, dance, and martial arts are just a few examples of how we design our programming to encourage a positive and healthy workplace.

A Triathlon for Everyone!

The Point Grey Triathlon provides a welcoming experience for first-time triathletes and seasoned veterans. With a variety of race lengths and the swimming component taking place in the state-of-the-art UBC Aquatic Centre, this is the perfect opportunity for you to work towards a personal achievement this summer – and don’t forget to take advantage of your Staff & Faculty discount! Register online or in the SRC before June 12.

Get started with fitness

New to fitness and want to get started? Exercise can increase your energy and help reduce stress, but if you’re new to fitness it isn’t always an easy taking those first few steps. The BirdCoop Fitness Centre has programming designed for individuals looking at getting started with fitness. Find your way to fitness and learn more about recreation at UBC!

Free Week

Try something new and meet new people with common interests! With free drop in for instructional, aquatics, and fitness classes running from May 23-29, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to register for your favourite classes early to be guaranteed a spot! No experience is required for any of the classes and all abilities are welcomed. Check out the schedule to find the right class for you.

Staff/Faculty Discounts at UBC Camps

From sports and swimming, to crafts and museums, UBC Camps offers a variety of fun and exciting camps to keep your child active throughout the whole summer. Discounts are available for all UBC Staff & Faculty! To use your discount, simply register your child for camps and then fill out our Staff & Faculty Reimbursement Form.

Lunchtime Staff & Faculty Drop-In Volleyball

Get moving during your lunch break! Register for our new staff & faculty lunchtime volleyball league. The perfect balance between drop-in and competitive leagues, join in on weekly games. Teams are adjustable, so you don’t need to put up together a whole team to register. Sign-up as an individual, meet new people and play the sport you love without the commitment of a regular team.

Summer Soccer Leagues

Gather your team or join as an individual for a 7-on-7 adult soccer league hosted at UBC’s beautiful Thunderbird park. All games are played on Wednesday evenings between 7:00pm and 10:00pm. Register by May 19th.

Spring Gardening Series

Join us this Spring for our free gardening workshops.  They’re designed for the beginner or inexperienced gardeners and open to all UBC Community members. Please register early as space is limited.

Recess for Adults

Break away from your routine and join us for a free active break with games and activities such as outdoor badminton, frisbee croquet, and more! Offerings and locations change weekly, so check back here for all things Recess.
