About the Team

The UBC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams are nationally competitive Thunderbirds Sport Clubs (TSC) and participate in the highest rank of University Tennis in Canada. The ultimate goal of the TSC Tennis Teams for the upcoming year is to earn a place at the Canadian National Championships, held in August of 2018, alongside the Rogers Cup in Toronto or Montreal. The competitive season begins at the start of 2018, however tryouts will take place in September 2017 and training is year round. For recruitment or donation inquiries please email us at tennis.sc@ubc.ca.

At the beginning of each academic year, we host a tryout that is open to everyone. As September approaches, check out our Facebook and Instagram feeds to find out the exact date of registration, and tryouts, make sure you don’t miss it! We look forward to seeing some new faces.

This tryout this year is taking place on Wednesday September 13th 6-9pm in the UBC Tennis Bubble (located next to the tennis centre). Sign up here.

Why You Should Join:

The UBC TSC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams are each made up of about 12 student-athletes who all share a passion for the sport of tennis and who wish to compete in Men’s or Women’s tennis to represent UBC. New players who share the team’s passion and will add positively to the team are always welcome. We invite all students who are interested in competing at a high-level in tennis to come to try-outs in September at the beginning of each academic year.

Joining the UBC TSC Men’s or Women’s Tennis Team enables a player to both improve within the sport and build long lasting relations within the team.
