Register for UBC Vancouver Sports Day

Before you register your team, please make sure you have the following:

  • Team Name
  • Individual or Team
    • Individual registrants will be placed on teams with other individuals to form a team
  • Just-for-Fun or Competitive category
    • Just-for-Fun – results will not be tallied and scored in the overall event standings
    • Competitive – results are tallied and scored for the event standings

Additionally, you will need the following information for all the participants (4-6 people) on your team:

  • Name (First & last name)
  • UBC employee number
  • Email address
  • Campus
  • Department or unit
  • Exceptionalities

Steps to Register

Please note that registration will take part in two steps:

  1. Team Registration
    • One team member (designated as Team Captain) will need to register your team.
    • To complete your team registration, the Team Captain will require a UBC Recreation login. If you do not already have a login, please follow these steps to set one up.
    • Once the online registration has been received, the Team Captain will receive an email in 2-3 business days with additional information about the next step.
      • Please note that if you are registering prior to April 8, email instructions for adding members to your roster and links to the online waiver will not be sent until after this date.
  2. Roster submission & online waiver – Available after April 8
    • Team Captains will use the information provided in the email to submit a team roster
    • Once individual team members are added to a roster, they will receive a notification to complete an online waiver. All team members will need a UBC Recreation login to complete their online waiver.

Registration FAQs

Current UBC staff and faculty from both UBC Vancouver campuses are all encouraged to partake in Sports Day. All individuals with a current UBC employee ID number are eligible!

The minimum number of participants on a team is 4 with a maximum of 6.

UBC Human Resources and UBC Recreation are excited to offer this event for FREE.

Competitive Team: This stream is designed for those who want to come out to win! For competitive teams, participants must complete as many challenges as possible during their registered time slot. Competitive teams are eligible to win the Winners Trophy.

Just for Fun Team: This type of team is for people who just want to have fun! These teams are not scored, and participants are welcome to participate in as many activities as they want. These teams are not eligible for the Winners Trophy; however they are eligible for the Spirit Trophy.

Yes, please provide this information in the registration form and contact us right away so that we can have enough time to make sure we can adapt the Sports Day experience to ensure your team has as much fun as possible! We would never want a team member left out and there are a lot of different activities.
